St. Mary’s College Chosen as One of First Leaders of the Maryland Green Registry
(St. Mary's City, MD) July 8, 2010-St. Mary's College of Maryland (SMCM) is one of five organizations to receive the Leadership Award of the Maryland Green Registry. This is the first year the Registry has recognized special leadership amongst its 210 members. The award recognizes organizations that show a strong commitment to sustainable practices, that continue to improve its environmental performance, and that demonstrate measurable results.

Solar Power Project Unveiled at Augustana
On May 25, Dean Roger Epp of the University of Alberta’s Augustana Campus in Camrose peeled the protective covers off ten solar-thermal panels installed on the roof of the Convocation Centre. The panels will heat water for use in the cafeteria and gymnasium.

UIS Students Win award at National Model U.N. Conference in New York
April 2010: At the Model United Nations conference, which simulates an actual United Nations meeting, the University of Illinois Springfield delegation of 14 students and one faculty member was one of 17 institutions to win the Outstanding Delegation Award. Over 400 international colleges and universities competed during the week-long event.

$2.5 Million VanArsdale Gift Largest in SUNY Geneseo History
October, 2009: Charles L. “Bud” VanArsdale, former president of the Bank of Castile, has made a gift commitment of $2.5 million to endow the first professorship in the college’s 138-year history. Henderson State Awarded $250K Grant for Veterans
Henderson State University (AR) has been awarded a Veterans Upward Bound grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant assists qualified military veterans enroll in postsecondary school.
